For venues & sponsors
Advertise with What's Queer
Put your venue, event or brand in front of people actively deciding where to go tonight in Manchester's LGBTQ+ scene. Not a generic audience, this one.
We're pre-launch and setting this up for the first time, so terms are still flexible. Get in touch and we'll figure out what fits.
Every placement reuses the site's own look, not generic banner-ad styling, so sponsor content reads as curated, not bought in bulk.
A horizontally-scrollable strip of up to 10 sponsor slots above the search bar, the first thing every visitor sees — people swipe through to browse them all.

A persistent card alongside the listings as people browse and scroll.
Styled identically to a real event card, appearing naturally in the listing feed. Clearly labelled "Sponsored" for paid placements — that's a legal requirement (UK ASA), not optional styling.

A conventional 300×250 sidebar slot that works as a house ad now, or an ad-network tag later.

Your logo and a link in the footer of every page. The smallest and cheapest spot we offer, and the one most small businesses start with — you don't need to be running an event, so it suits a shop, barber, tattoo studio, café or therapist just as well as a venue.

Pricing is tailored per sponsor for now, while we build out real audience data as a pre-launch site — get in touch with what you're looking for (which placement, how long) and we'll quote something fair.
Send artwork at these sizes and it'll look right everywhere. If you're not sure, send what you've got and we'll work with it.
1200 × 600 (2:1). The banner across the top of the homepage. It can stretch closer to 3:1 on wide screens, so keep logos and text within the middle — treat the outer edges as croppable.
300 × 250 exactly. This is the IAB Medium Rectangle, the standard display-ad size — so a creative you already have will drop straight in.
1600 × 900 (16:9) is ideal, but a square poster is fine — when someone opens your event the whole image is shown, uncropped. Keep the subject fairly central: the small thumbnail in the listing is a square crop, so anything at the far edges is missing from that one.
400 × 200, transparent PNG, logo centred with a little padding around it. Appears in the footer strip on every page.
Formats: JPG for photos, PNG for logos or anything with text. Under 500KB where you can, so pages stay quick on mobile.
Drop us a line about a placement, and we'll quote something fair for a pre-launch audience.
